Flights from Pondicherry to Hyderabad and Pondicherry to Bangalore will kickstart on March 27.
After a period of two years, Puducherry Airport will become operational once again for commercial passenger flights, starting this month.
Low-cost airline SpiceJet will operate daily flights between Pondicherry and Hyderabad and Pondicherry and Bangalore from March 27.
Bookings for Puducherry-Hyderabad-Puducherry sector and Puducherry-Bengaluru-Puducherry sector have just opened on March 9 evening.
Going by the SpiceJet website, a 78- seater Q400 aircraft will be deployed for this sector.
The schedule for the upcoming flights are as follows:
Departure Arrival
Hyderabad 12.05 p.m. Pondicherry 1.30 p.m.
Pondicherry 1.50 p.m. Bangalore 2.50 p.m
Bangalore 3.20 p.m. Pondicherry 4.10 p.m.
Pondicherry 4.30 p.m. Hyderabad 6.15 p.m
Pondicherry to Hyderabad Flight
Flight SG3996 will depart from Hyderabad just around noon at 12.05 p.m and reach Pondicherry in 1 hour 25 minutes at 1.30 p.m.
On its return leg, Flight SG3997 leaves Pondicherry at 4.30 p.m. and will arrive in Hyderabad by 6.15 p.m.
Bangalore to Pondicherry Flight
On the Puducherry-Bengaluru-Puducherry sector, Flight SG3999 departs from Pondicherry daily at 1.50 p.m. and reaches Bangalore in an hour by 2.50 p.m. On its return, aircraft SG3998 leaves Bengaluru airport at 3.20 p.m. and reaches Pondicherry in 50 minutes at 4.10 p.m.
The Puducherry airport has only been catering to chartered aircraft since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out.
After relentless efforts by the Puducherry government and coordinated efforts of the Tourism department, flights from Puducherry airport have resumed again, said a press release by the CM’s office.
