POLITICAL CRISIS
This has been a politically dramatic week in Puducherry.
To recap, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao resigned his seat in the house on Monday; MLA John Kumar quit on Tuesday not long before Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Puducherry on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Kiran Bedi was removed as the Lt Governor of Puducherry on Tuesday and Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan was sworn into office as the new Lt Governor of Puducherry (additional charge) on Thursday. Chief Minister Narayanasamy has to prove his government enjoys majority on the floor of the Legislative Assembly before 5 pm on Monday, February 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive on February 25.
