Community Vigilance
Private medical college hospitals in the city have also been asked to join the efforts to combat Covid-19 in Puducherry by allotting beds for Covid-19 patients and setting up Covid-19 care centres for anyone manifesting symptoms. They may be allowed to offer Covid-19 testing soon.
Meanwhile, echoing health officials’ repeated call for community vigilance, the Chief Minister on Sunday said people must inform police/ revenue and disaster management officials if anyone in their neighbourhood has returned to Puducherry from hotspots or other states so they can be assessed in time and tested if necessary. It has been reported that a number of Covid-19 cases in Puducherry are linked to people returning to Pondicherry from other states.
It is also now mandatory for anyone who has entered Puducherry after June 1 to register themselves with a PHC (primary health centre) in their locality . Read about it here .
