Arrived in Pondicherry after June 1 ? Register at nearest PHC

Register at nearest PHC in Pondicherry  if you enter Pondy anytime after June 1

The sudden surge in positive Covid19 cases as well as fatalities ( 7 recorded deaths at the time of publication ) has prompted the district administration to issue an order on Thursday asking travellers who returned this month to Puducherry to  come forward and register themselves.

Anyone who has entered Pondicherry since June 1 is requested to enrol their details in the nearest Primary Health Centre (PHC) in their locality. The travel history and assessment of travellers could help check the spread of Covid-19 and make contact tracing easier. Those who fail to enrol their details duly will attract penal action, added the press release issued by the district collector.

You can easily locate your nearest PHC on Google maps .

The order comes after the recent spike in Covid-19 cases is linked to arrival of people from neighbouring states with or without an e-pass. The Collector also directed Medical Officers of all PHC s in Pondicherry to maintain a separate register to track health issues of people who arrived in Puducherry recently .
